THE TESTIMONIAL (PART 2)
"the match"

the Blacks (seniors) were warming up and practicing some of their moves. the Reds (juniors) were doing likewise. it was probably close to 6 when the match was about to start. no one really knew the time because nobody on the field wore a watch. it was clearly in the evening.

all were ready for the big game. but deep inside, everyone felt differently. some were scared, some were piss scared (the juniors), some were confident, some were out to kill. Clement was quite nervous, seeing his friends on the sideline. and others who formed the crowd. pressure was mounting, and the forward was tensed. but he didnt want it to get the better of him. he knew he just didnt want to screw up.

the whistle blew and the Blacks kicked off. it was a frenzy if anyone could call it anything. it was messy. the ball was constantly being passed and dropped and although people were just running all over the place, it was clear that the Blacks were domineering the game. within the first 10mins, the Blacks were up by 2 trys to NIL.
one scored beautifully by Kenneth another from a set play.

the Reds were pretty demoralised, and the Blacks were determined to make the score line wider.
but at a sudden change in play, the Reds started attacking with the benefit of several penalties, and one fumble costs the Blacks a try.
it was a morale killer for the Blacks when the whistle blew at half time leaving the Blacks only leading 12-5.
they had expected a better score, but at least they were leading.

"the second half"

sides changed, territory was remarked.
the battle of Blacks vs Reds continued. at one point, the Reds closed in on the mighty Blacks at 19-17. that made the all time low morale for the seniors who were in despair. frustration and anger had crept in earlier in the seond half...which created an upset in the entire Blacks play.
it wasnt clear what happened, maybe it was something someone said or did, but all of a sudden, the Blacks burst back into full force. a force so great that the minute Reds were simply overwhelmed. spectacular individual performances abound with a solo try scoring run, and an in centre held up half the Reds' forward pack because he refused to go down. Take that Reds!!!
asses were kicked, and bodies were battered. pain! the Reds felt the pain.

although there was a significant loss in strength when both Kenneth and Zhen yuan were injured, the victory hungry Blacks were unstoppable. we Blacks swept down the field like the hand of god, wiping out everything in it's path. and at the last 10mins, two more trys were scored putting the Blacks 41-17.
whistle blew at full time. it was over.

the rugby career Clement and most of his team mates were over. this was the last rugby match they would ever play.

the Blacks displayed true sportmanship, individual talent and team spirit. undeniably, the Blacks had beaten the arrogant Reds in every aspect of the game, except maybe for earning penalties. they were faster, stronger, tougher, quicker, and on a whole, a better team. nothing else has to be said.

it was indeed a good match.
