My mum's being a real pain again. I applaud my dad for being able to tolerate her nonsense.


Every relationship I've been in was inevitably filled with insecurities and certain considerations for the future. She was either spending too much time with friends, or graduating much earlier than myself, or clubbing too much (which, of course, spawns many insecurities in itself), or smoking, or being too idealistic, or being too beautiful, or having a dad that's so rich and powerful it makes me uncomfortable.


Most of them aren't immediate-relationship-threatening problems. They just start bugging you in the long run, making life difficult.


Perhaps if I do go far enough in a relationship for any of that to matter, it might be a good problem to have. Happy problem, as they would call it. Just like having too much money. I wouldn't be complaining about a long relationship filled with it's inevitable trials and tribulations.
