Veneer of Civility

I had hot milo at Raymond's doorstep, in a mug that said "I Love Bishan". His mum's a grassroots member i think. Don't get me wrong, i do love Bishan. Train tracks, Junction 8 and all that jazz. It was just weird drinking out of a cup that's has on it explicitly, and very in-your-face, how i'd feel about my home town. silly.

Since we're feeling really Singaporean, I'm gonna let you know that I've noticed more female bus drivers of late. Significantly, and on more different buses. Again, I have no issue with gender equality, it's just an observation that i can't and shouldn't have to find a conclusive answer for.

Sometimes you'd just like to know what's going on, because as much as it may suck to know the truth, it's probably worse to be left imagining what it might be. And even so, you'd never be certain what the truth really is. Perhaps that's why love is a leap of faith. It's taking a gamble, a risk (however calculated you might think it is), and jumping off the skyscraper in hopes that when you near the ground, you see the mattress of trust and love in place to catch you. Because you really wouldn't want to be caught in a sitaution where you fall so helplessly and hopelessly, only to find that you can't see the mattress or worse, the trampoline's suddenly pulled out from beneath you seconds before you hit. Smack.
