The Animate (Incomplete)

This was what the entry would have been had i found the time and inspiration for it.
Unfortunately, the lack of skill has resulted in this incomplete piece.
It was intended to be about JY, Lulu, people that have passed me by and most importantly now, Val.

Here, the incomplete animate.

"You know this as well as I do - that something is either animate or inanimate.
People find it easier to interact with animates (I say 'animates' because 'animate objects' sounds degrading) because they respond to your actions somehow or other. When I'm at home and no one else is, I say I'm alone even though I'm in the company of furniture, appliances, clothes and loads of shit. I mean, if you think about it, anyone has more stuff in their house than the number of people in a lecture. I'm alone because I'm the only one capable of thought or speech or response. In other words- interaction.

Which brings me to the point. People find it easier to fall in love with an animate than an inanimate. Do correct me if I err. More than that, humans find it easier to fall deeply in love with humans than anything else for a simple fact that they're the same type. With the same 1011100101110011100 in them.

This is going to sound a little silly. A human is pretty much made up of cells, organs and tissues. We all more or less have the same things like skin, a head (sometimes 2), eyes, ears, teeth, a face (however ugly it may be), cheeks, a neck to prop your head up on your shoulders, arms, elbows, wrists, and you can basically carry on downwards to the nether regions and beyond. My point is, we are all, when broken down to atoms, made up of carbon. Carbon is the same stuff that's found in pencil lead, charcoal, burnt chicken wings and diamonds. How is it then that we are put together in this unique form? A form where we are able to communicate thought through speech and literature, devise complex solutions to annoying math problems, figure out how to put a man on the moon, and most importantly to love.

How can one lump of carbon love another? Sure it's a beautifully engineered lump of carbon complete with dicks and tits, but still, a lump of carbon no less. In case you begin to think I'm going pseudo-philosophical or sounding a bit like Bill Bryson, I'll let you know that I will never figure out how I fell so in love another of my kind. And how one person can stir so much within me. It's incredible and weird at the same time... "
